Default I need some help finding a bowhunting association!

I've been bowhunting for 15 years and up until now, I've never been interested in being involved in any type organized bowhunting association or club. Now that deer season has ended, I once again find my self not wanting to put my bow up. For the last month I have been trying to research some local clubs and the Lone Star Bowhunters Association. I live near Houston and I've heard of the Banna Bend Bowbenders and the LSBA. What's been very discourging is that neither of the web sites seem to be current. Iam interested in 3-D shoots and supporting the sport in anyway I can, but I haven't been able to make a commitment due to the lack of updated information (i.e) 3-D schedules and mainly what my association dues would paying for other than a magzine and outdated web site. I am very passionate about bowhunting and I'm willing to help in any way I can. I just want to make a wise investment.

Unlike local clubs that put on shoots and have other events, the LSBA is the statewide organization dedicated to preserving our bowhunting rights. The organization keeps current with what is happening within Parks and Wildlife Department and our State Legislature that may affect our rights to bowhunt. 2 years ago, we sucessfully protected the archery stamp, when a bill was trying to do away with it. Loosing the archery stamp could have cost us our archery season. If you are just looking for a club, to have some guys to hang around with, this is not it. If you are truly passionate about bowhunting, then the LSBA is THE organization you need to belong to and support. We are not just a 3D organization, but a bowhunting organization. We do host 3D shoots to help promote the organization and are currently setting out '05 schedule. The website is not outdated on this, the schedule is just not currently set. As to what your dues pay for, we do publish a very good magazine, but mainly your dues go to keep the organization strong to defend your bowhunting rights.
If you have any other questions, I would be glad to address them.
