Whitetail Season fast approaching
:D As it is rapidly approaching my favorite time of the year, it is time for that last minute fine tuning of your archery equipment, checking shooting lanes, etc, to get ready for opening day. Hopefully everyone has a successful archery season. Just something I like to remind some of my friends. A successful hunt is not always measured by the # of points, width of the spread, or overall P&Y score, but the time out in the stand admiring nature's work, time spent around the campfire with old buddies and new ones swapping stories, and just the overall feeling of success to have been within range of that deer, without being busted, even if your never draw on him. Everyone enjoy their hunting season and come on and share some stories from 2003

 How right you are my friend!! We should all be very proud of our Archery hunting heritage and remember that we take the responsibilty of being good ethical hunters with us when we go afield. I try to always remember that the "EYES" are out there just waiting for me to do something dumb that they can use in some sort of anti-hunting program!! I try to also remember that hunting ethics are what I do when no one is watching!! Because, they just might be!! Everyone be safe and Good luck with the season! P.S. I will see you next Friday at the LL...

Good posts!
Looks like we are all getting ready and pumped for the season! Would only like to add one thing to all the good said above: Hunt SAFE! Use a safety belt if hunting in the air and remember the consequenses and responsibility that comes from loosing that arrow down range. Have a great season and look forward to all the stories and pics. Every animal is a trophy in the eyes of the hunter! |
Archery season
Don't you enjoy those times in the field and around the camp during cool fall days!!! It is almost here. I am looking forward to seeing some of the bucks from last season.
Here is one of them! |
Welcome to the site Bigboy! You sure do know how to make an entrance by posting that pic of the 'other' Big Boy  . Great looking deer....whats the story behind him?

:) Spike,
I only saw this deer one time last season. It was late in the season but I decided to pass on him. What you can't tell from the photo is this deer has an honest 20" inside spread. I saw him on the same morning that I saw 6 other bucks to include this "tough" guy. With another year of growth, this 20" deer should really be impressive. I watched him for quite some time at 20 yards before he left. |
You are a better man than I. The longer I looked the harder it would have been to pass.
