Way to go Biggen!!!
My daughter DJ and I both got antelope in WY in Sept.
She has another pig and I a turkey so far for this fall here in TX. Not to many deer moving yet as this is the biggest acorn year I can remember. I set most of my stands up for south wind and it has been out of the north each time I have gone to the lease.

Chunky, that pic needs to go in the magazine. Give your daughter a "Great Job" for me. Just awesome.

That's great chunky. Tell your daughter congratulations. That's one to really be proud of. Bring her on the spring hunt and we'll let her have a free entry on the concrete pig (to win, she will have to shoot it with a recurve though). She looks too good a shot with the wheels.

Well, I'll make an effort to be in on the spring hunt. Having it on the same weekend as the Hill Country Shootout worked out great for me. Maybe we can set it up the same again.
Thought I was finally going to get to fill a tag yesterday, but the deer saw me from 50 yards out. Wasn't sure if it wanted to trust that big blob of something in the tops of those mesquite so it just hung out snorting and stomping. It left and about 30 minutes later came back. This time it got to within 30 yards but no shooting lanes and it was more alert than a B-52 crew. The fawn busted me when an arrow hung on a limb and it lit out, so big doe just turned and walked away. I went ahead and headed in for the evening knowing I'd get no shots that evening. My quadpod was just too visible. Tonight I removed the quadpod and set up a ground blind in the same location, but, low enough to provide concealment. Maybe I'll get a shot another day.
For now, I'm getting set to take my boy out come opening day of the general. Looking forward to the time when he can shoot hunting weight bows.

Anyone know when the Hill Country shoot is? I'd like to have the Grunts and Gobbles hunt on the full moon weekend in April so long as it isn't Easter of course.
Bought a finger glove today and was shooting my recurve. Seems to be more accurate than my tab. Anyone have an explanation?
The concrete pig is mine!

I've got a moon calendar at work. I'll check it tomorrow. Hopefully, they'll fall in line with each other.

Tracy i've got one that Biggen sent me. The full moon weekend is the 23-24th and that's what I might shoot for if it isn't Easter. Need to check with others to make sure that this wouldn't be too late in Turkey season for them, but it would be ideal for hogs.
Now when is the Hill Country Shoot going to be?

Chunky, congrats to your daughter and yourself on the antelope.
I took this elk in Colorado in September. Have not had a chance to hunt our new lease yet. Been to busy getting everything set up. Things are looking good though, have seen lots of deer and pigs while tending to the feeders. :P
