Antelope Bound
Leaving early tomorrow to fly to Colorado. This is the trip that was rained out last year. In case you don't recall Jay Fulton and I got clear up to Eichler's place at Trinidad. CO only to find that it had been raining all week; and we were out of luck. Well not completely, as Fred suggested that we simply go home and come back this year. So here we go. Can't say enough good things about Fred. He lost a couple of thousand by doing what he did, but it was more important to him that we have a good hunt. You can't find an outfitter that does more for you than that.
Anyway, I've had a whole year to think about this, and let the excitement build, and I've been having trouble sleeping this whole last week. I guess I'm kind of like the kid the night before you go to Grandma's.
One additional good deal is that Jack Jetton is going to be there while we are. More cameraderie. I would normally assume that Jack made his reservations specifically because he knew I would be there and so could benefit from my wisdom, but he swears it was just dumb luck. Sure Jack, sure. I understand.
So I'm leaving Rockport Texas and our 101 heat at about 4 AM to fly to Colorado and sit in a hot tent blind on the prairie. Yes! Yes! It doesn't get any better than that.
See you tomorrow Jack.
