Default Opener report...

Well how did everyone do this past weekend?

I saw 2 doe (small) and I lost count after 75 coons. I had to move the Matrix to a new location. I can't believe I didn't have it at this one spot earlier.

Good luck fellers.

We had a slow weekend. Acorns, recent rains and hot temperatures made for a pretty crummy hunt. I did draw twice on a group of hyperactive hogs but could not get a clear shot.

Had one doe come within 40 yards, but no shot ops and she walked. Saw a couple bucks way out there and a couple more does.

Didn't see much, but I did get closer to a game plan.

Bullis' opening weekend was a mixed bag.

There were a couple deer taken Saturday AM, (one nice buck, three does), a few more Saturday evening and Sunday AM.

I took a 4 1/2 year old 8 point Sunday evening. Nice little buck, dressed at 106#, 20 yard shot, 18 yard recovery. There were 5 does taken Sunday evening as well.

Lots of good bucks reported seen.

I saw 3 does and no bucks. I didn't take a shot as I was hoping for a buck. I also set up another stand in some heavy timber near what will be a wheat field. Everything I have is crossed in anticipation!

That's a great first buck. Much better than the first one I took. Tell him congratualations.

rns, you get yours on your lease or up there in East Texas. Now remember those tame pets of yours don't count.

I actually went Bay fishing this weekend with my oldest and youngest sons. Had to try out the new/used boat. I did catch something that I fought for 20 minutes and five times around the boat before he got away.

I know it was opening weekend, but I figured I had to let some of my friends in LSBA have at least that much of a head start to make it even. :P Next week I'll make a run.

Good luck to everyone.

Ronnie, it's real easy to post a picture. Here's how:

Step 1 - Email photo to Fitzgerald.

Step 2 - Say hey Mike, would you please post this on the site.

Can't see what's at all difficult about this process.

I'm heading out Monday for the first time, but will need to be back in Rockport before the cold front comes through. Bad timing, but at least I'll get a day in the woods.
