Last week I had the opprotunity to test out some prototype shafts. The are fully tapered and are spined 35 to 65 pounds. We tested them in three different traditional bows (2 Longbows and a Recurve) all of different draw weights, 37, 41 and 48 pounds and the bare shafts with 125 grain heads flew true out of all three bows.
These shafts aren't available on the market as yet but they will be very soon. They are going to be available in both standard black and wood grain (very nice wood grain). I can't provide the company name yet but if y'all are interested I will keep you filled in on the details as I get them.
They should fly like the wind. My new longbow is 48 and they flew better out of it like no shafts I've seen out of a bow. I'm going to have a dozen of the black shafts sometime next week. I'll be fletching them of one of their staff shooters, but I'm thinking of going over to SFA and shooting one evening if you are interested. Derek
I have a dozen of these shafts in my shop. I'll be getting them fletched in the next few days and hope to take them over to SFA for a test run before shipping them to the Staff Shooter. Will let you folks know what evening I'll be at SFA if anyone is interested in see and shooting these. They will be setup in a traditional format with 5 inch feather fletching, so it might not be the best setup for compounds.
