Default Bullis' Bruiser Buck

Don't know how many of you have heard already but there was a WHOPPER of a buck brought in at Bullis this past weekend. Photos should be in this Sunday's Express News along with an accounting of the events leading up to it's bring tagged.

In any case the animal's antlers had 40 points (no, that's not a typographical error, FORTY POINTS, that were capable of being scored and was 'green-scored' at 265 B&C Non-Typical. It will be logged as the third best whitetail ever in TX. Other particulars are: Age: 6 1/2, Dressed Weight: 118, Inside Spread: 21".

For those who are interested, Bullis is open to eligible hunters using bow and gun. To be eligible the hunter must be Active, Retired, Reserve or National Guard (or their dependents - husband, wive, children etc), of DOD Civilian employees. Archers must complete IBEP, firearm hunters, regardless of age, must present proof of completing Hunter Education.

I'll append this thread with a fews photo when I get back to S/A.

Oh yes, I have to see a photo of this. I grew up in SA and our boy scout troop used to go camping out at Bullis. Guess I should have brought my bow. Looking for the pictures.

There is now some questions concerning the means in which the buck was taken!! the story is it was injured and then was dispatched with a knife by two employees of the facility. I will try and post a link to the story.

The attached link will bring you to several very clear photos of the Bullis Buck as well as some of the discussions that have occurred. I think you'll find the photos pretty incredible and the discussion very informatiive. Especially since it includes a first hand account of the circumstances that led to the deer's being located and it's death.
