Default HELP! Hunters for the Hungry

This is a worthwhile organization that puts all hunters in a good light. I give a couple of animals a year to them. They could use our help.

Hunters for the Hungry Needs Your Bucks!
Texas Hunters for the Hungry must generate $100,000 this fall to continue!

How can you help?

Jack I'm all for supporting this organization. I do wonder why it needs $100,000 to continue. I thought this effort was based on donated meat and the hunters paid a processing fee of say $25, so where does the $100,000 come in?

Thanks,

Tomme

They have administrative costs, such as printing of the brochures, advertising and postage, employees salaries, and there are also eight high schools statewide that participate in meat processing programs. I am sure there is some costs association with the programs too.

Last year hunters provided 717,092 quarter pound servings to Texans in need. Some of the organizations to which meat was donated are in OUR local communities and feeding our neighbors! Texas has over 1.3 million children living in poverity, that is 1 in every 4 children. Wild game is some of the most nutritious meat that these children will eat. If hunters can proactively feed fellow Texans in need than I believe this organization needs to be saved. This program is one that sheds a positive light around hunters. Let's all get involved to help save this worthy program.

Wow, that's a lot of meat...I really had no idea that they reached that many people.
