Grunts and Gobbles X

Hard to believe but this next Spring will be our tenth Grunts and Gobbles Hunt. Here's a starter to get the ball rolling.

Dates: March 22-24th, 2013 - That's noon on Friday through noon Sunday.

Cost: $180 total for the two day hunt (note the ranch is giving us a heck of a deal as they normally charge $150 a day for a spring hog/turkey hunt). As always kids hunt free.

Place: Brushy Hills Ranch, which is 4 miles south of Sabinal.

Hunt times: This is as close to the full moon as we can get and you're allowed to hunt hogs all night.

Come out for the hunt and the fun and fellowship. Anyone with pictures of any of the other hunts please post or bring along. We will have the annual balloon shoot and of course the contest for the "cursed" concrete pig is still open.

PRIZES TO BE AWARDED THIS YEAR FOR LARGEST PIG AND TURKEY!

Hunt is limited to first 44 hunters. This hasn't been a problem recently, but if the hunt fills up, you're out of luck.

I sure hope I can find a way to go this year. I kinda miss all you guys. Plus it is time for someone to take home the concrete pig, and that someone is me.

The only Strickland I see taking home a prize is one of them younguns...I heard the rest of you cant shoot

OH Brandon I thought we were friends. You are right though these kiddos kill alot more than we do they are animals

Of course I go to check to make sure I'm available (Surely I am since it's 3 months away, right?) and of course the only thing I have planned that far in advance is the monthly training I have for work.

I'm already going to have to miss one of these for the EC meeting in Jan so I can't miss another for G&G. Figures.

Anyone know when TBOT is having their big shoot for the year?

I won't know if I can make it until right before the hunt. I am suppose to be working all of March.

Jon has just purchased a Bob Lee recurve. May be me and Jon against the Stricklands for the concrete pig.

Now you're right, those Stricklands can't shoot (except for the kids), so looks like the Actkinsons will be taking the pig home.

And I am proud to say that the little guy on the end is my son teaching us old guys a lesson in Trad.
