Default Grandson Scores

I know this is a archery site but Dakota who is 6 can't pull 40# yet. He does shoot a bow a lot but this year we started shooting a gun. We spent all summer shooting a 22 with a scope so he could learn how to see through the scope. Well it paid off, he got his first deer, it is a 9pt with a 15in spread. He shot it with a single shot 243 at 70yds. Needless to say he was proud and I am the HAPPEST GRANDPAW in the country.

I've been taking him since he was 2 and the last 2yrs he has been sitting in the bow stand with me and he loves hunting. But this weekend was all about his hunt and he did good.
I love to hunt but when you have kids and grandkids to me its all about them and having fun.

Dakota, Congrats on a nice deer. Grandpaw has done a great job. Also send him in for his first time harvest of a game animal to the Big Game Awards. They will send him a certificate for his deer.

Congrats to Dakota! Post a pic Ronnie. There had to be a whopper smile to go with the first deer.

Congrats to Dakota.
Ronny my hat is off to you. That is where our future is, if they aren't exposed to hunting early they seem to lose interest fast.

CONGRATULATIONS DAKOTA! Now there's a memory that will last forever. Hunting with Grandpa and that first buck.

Ronnie, congratulations to you too. Makes me remember being in the stand with my youngest son when he got his first one. The only tiime I'd felt something like it was when I in the birthing room when he was born.

Now go get him a good bow! Brad and I recommend Matthews :P .

Thanks gals and guys, Brian that is the future and my blind is going to get full fast. I have 5 grandboys that are 6,4,3,3 and 1, I might need to build a bigger stand soon.
I don't think it gets any better than taking a kid hunting.
