Yikes! MRSA is scary stuff. I know two people that have been hospitalized with MRSA for over three months on heavy duty IV antibiotics. Both contracted it in a hospital setting. It can affect your internal organs, including your heart.

My son has had MRSA also. When he was seven, he contracted impetigo. Since then, he has been susceptible to staph infections. The first one took almost a year for him to get over and left scaring in some areas on his arms and legs.

Keep some of the topical cream on-hand in the event you have an outbreak and cannot get to the doctor for a day or so. Also, anyone who is assisting you with wound care needs to take special precautions, such as washing hands in bleach-water and anti-bacterial soap after caring for the wound.

Good luck, Dan! Prayers sent for a quick recovery!
