Chris, sounds like it might be suitable for you. I personally have a problem with high wrist grips (typical of recurves) because of an old injury.

I think its a big plus to not have to carry any tools to camp with you.

The fewer working parts the better for me.

I think the only thing I like about 3 piece bows is how easily they are to transport. Space savers for sure. If I ever break down and buy a bike, I might have to get me a Great Plains 3 pc longbow though. They're okay.
