Acorns

Has anyone been eyeballin' the ends of the oak limbs? With all the rain this year looks like a bumper crop of acorns. I remember the last time in 1999, hardly a deer spotted and we are covered up with deer. We are also mostly hardwood (oak) woods here in Madison County. :tearhair:

Wil have to take a closer look!!

Yep - trees are loaded on our place. May be the best year in many for horns but the worst for hunting feeders. Gonna have to get off the feeders and on some trails I think. We'll see.

I guess if we keep getting the wet stuff they may rot quickly, who knows.

Yep alot of acorns here in N.B. I have to agree with T.B. need to set up on trails or not hunt until late dec. or jan. on feeders!

We got 'em all over around here, too. It works for me because the few places I will probably hunt this year doesn't have any feeders setup. I will just have to get around some trails.

I cut some new funnels this spring with a dozer so hopefully that will help us. The creek bottoms around us are not drying out so hopefully they will rot there quick and bring them to our higher ground.

Our place in the hill country has some but they are all little bitty and already looking like they are fixing to start dropping. Hopefully it will just keep raining like it has been and just rot them quickly if they do start falling off the trees in large amounts.
