What has LSBA done in 200&?

Bob Wright suggested this so I'll start the thread. Let's put down what all has been going on in LSBA this year. I think many will be surprised.

I'll start off. On the hunt/fellowship side.

We started the "HAM FOR THE HUNGRY" project. This ran the month of February and resulted in several hogs donated to charitable organizations. I hope to see this expanded, but Hunters Harvest was real happy with us.

We filled the ranch at Brushy Hills for the Spring Grunts and Gobbles. We maxed out with over 55 hunters. We also had the heaviest rains ever and this led to some real memories of trucks up to their doors or on the wrong side of the river.

In July we had the first LSBA Beach Party at Rockport Texas. Again all the rain we've had this year didn't help the fishing and the water was too muddy for mullet, but the fish fry on the beach went well and I think some of the people who came are already planning for next year.

LSBA has had numerous shoots out at Bass Pro Shop Katy. I think we completed 3 as of now, with two more during the Fall Classic.

We held the 3D pop-up tournament.

I know I am forgetting somethings, but that is what came to mind......

I will add as I remember them.

up in our part of the state we have held 5 youth shoots with a couple of them being at boy scout camps where we were able to spend enough time with the kids to really get them shooting well.

of all the pictures on my web page I like this one the best. To me this says every thing about the LSBA. When I talk to potential sponsor I always start with my personal opinion that our primary propose is to put bows in the hands of kids.

This is a great post, thought it should have been done along time ago and also put in the magazine. Lets do better than that, lets break it down by what each Region has done also so that the members in the Region know that they can come out and attend or help.

I wonder if Bob Wright has any ideal how many kids he has had pass through the kids shoots he puts on.

Buff was that cub scout shooting from the right orange stake?

Hot4huntin 08-07-2007 03:06 PM

You're a funny guy, Brad!! :D

Bullrdr82 08-07-2007 03:56 PM

I think it was the orange stake that should have been the pink stake, but really was an organe stake..... but all in all we were shooting at the orange frog when we should have been shooting at the green one!!!

:P :P :P

( BTW - That was for Dena & Bobby)

DoubleJ 08-07-2007 06:39 PM

Dena I would just add that the IBEP classes in Friendswood and at BPS were combination student/instructor classes. Several of our members took the time to become IBEP instructors. Now I will expect to see some classes come out of that especially on the north side of Houston.

Ronny 08-08-2007 07:45 PM

We also had a booth at the ASA shoot in Paris.
