I work in Decatur, live in Denton and Callisburg, hunt the following:

Grayson...Hagerman when drawn corp property when not drawn shot a 140" at the Hag in 2007

Cooke...Family land 55acres very few deer but really close to the house first year to hunt trail camera pics are dissapointing

Montague...small 150 acre lease there very few deer shot 3 in 6 years biggest 110"

Wise....Work in decatur so hunt after work until daylight savings times when I dont have kids. Havent got a deer there in 2 years but I think this is gonna be my year

Denton...Got drawn for grapevine and its only 12.5 miles from the Girlfriends House..Urban deer are a new thing for me..

Welcome Dan, sounds like your hunting seasons are going like mine. I haven't killed anything in a while either. One day I will break that streak and wack something again.

Dan, Welcome to the only organization that volunteers our time to puts bows in nearly 5000 kids hands every year at the Texas Trophy Hunter Extravanganzas. This is our future and we are very proud of this accomplishment.

The LSBA fights for all hunters rights and especially our right to hunt with archery equipment.

And lastly we have the Texas Bowhunting & Bowfishing Records that recognizes fish & animals harvested with a bow & arrow in Texas. We accept all entries regardless of whether you are a member of the LSBA or not and we host a GREAT banquet every June to honor our members and their harvests.

Dean, you have hit the nail on the head, and thanks for posting the TBBR info. I want to ad the following.




Once again the LSBA is having it’s Big Buck Contest. A few things have changed this year. The winner will have their choice of either a Jacket, Plaque, or Belt Buckle. I am still in the works of getting the design for the plaque, but it will have a picture of you and your deer on it, so make sure you take a good field photo for submission. As soon as I have the design finished, I will post the pics of what they will look like.

We are still in transition and trying to get the new TBBR website up, but continue to use everything from the old website still for now. You can print off the old entry form and just put the 2011-2012 on top. The rules of Fair Chase have changed. We no longer require an Escape Proof Fence to be a maximum of 640 acres. As long as it was Fair Chase, and not killed in a pen, we will allow the entries of all animals.

You still need to have your entry in two weeks prior to killing your trophy.
Entry Fee is still $25 payable to TBBR, or if you wish to enter online and pay with paypal, you can log into your paypal account and then send payment to paypal@lonestarbowhunter.com, and then email your entry information to tbbr.chairman@gmail.com
