LSBA Youth Archery on Channel 8 TV
 

Channel 8 TV will broadcast a live feed of our youth archery program on Wednesday, May 25th around 6:00 AM.

Channel 8 TV in DFW will do a live broadcast of our youth archery activities on Wednesday, May 25th. David Lassetter and I will set up a youth archery range at a local church and demonstrate kids shooting a few arrows at 3D targets.

The LSBA has been very active all over the state putting on youth archery ranges at events but no one really knows about us outside of archery circles. This is a great opportunity for the general public in the DFW area to learn about the LSBA and our youth archery program. Also, it won’t hurt our efforts to find volunteers to help with our youth archery ranges.

Channel 8 TV heard about us through the City of Farmers Branch. Farmers Branch puts on Liberty Fest every Memorial Day weekend. The LSBA sets up our youth archery range at this event. We never charge a thing to shoot, no one is too young or too old, and our goal is to make sure the kids and their families have fun shooting bows and arrows at 3D targets and balloons.

So those of you living in the DFW area get up early on Wednesday, turn to Channel 8 and see what happens. This is live TV so no telling what kind of trouble we’ve got ourselves into.

BTW, we only have 3 volunteers for Liberty Fest next weekend in Farmers Branch. This TV exposure could bring hundreds of kids to shoot with us. I hope more LSBA members get involved or we may be in trouble. Post here or call me at 972-259-0263 if you can help for a few hours on Saturday. Liberty Fest Expo is from noon to 5:00 PM on Saturday May 28, 2011 in Farmers Branch.

Do they have an internet feed or website where those of us out of the viewing area can watch?

Got a call from Channel 8 at 3:30 this morning. Due to the severe storms that came through last night, all Channel 8 trucks are out doing storm damage stories. We're going to try to reschedule in the next couple of days.

No live TV for the LSBA today.

Looks like we'll be doing the live feed Wednesday morning of next week. More information to follow.

We're scheduled to be on Channel 8 TV in the DFW area Wednesday morning aroung 6:00 am to demonstrate our youth archery program. If we don't get pre-empted by some big news story, we'll see on TV in the morning!

The live TV shoot went well. Haven't seen the DVR video yet but everything seemed to be OK.

There will be another segment in the noon hour on channel 8 in the Dallas/F. Worth area of taped video or our youth archery range.
