Willow City Loop revisited.....

Just a tip for anyone not familiar with this gem in the Texas Hill Country out near Fredericksburg....the Willow City Loop. My wife and I first made the loop the first year we were married (1974) and were so impressed with it we took two bunches of kinfolks at two different times and it was spectacular each time.

You get so far away from the big city hum-drum and daily problems and get caught up in the absolute beauty of the area. In the wildflower season the varieties and abundance are amazing.

We made the loop today for the first time since the '70s and can say that nothing has changed except the increased traffic on the road.....which is paved now. The bluebonnets this year are fabulous....definitely a good year! Just thought I'd pass it along....

We did it back in the 80s when I was still in the USAF stationed in San Antonio. As you say it is awesome and I wish it wasn't so far away. To get away from the big city we run to our place in East Tx, but there aren't as many wild flowers.........

I was not aware of it. Thanks for posting. We may have to check it out.
