Moose Hunt

My hunting partner had to pull out of this hunt for family reasons, so I am looking for 1 or 2 hunters to join me on a moose during the archery only season in Canada (Ontario - Northwest of Thunder Bay). The plan is to drive. I live in Cibolo, near San Antonio and am planning on leaving Sept 24th and being home by Oct 4th at the latest.

Your cost for the hunt will be $1,600 + a license to hunt moose (about $350 USD). If you want to share the tag with someone you can, each of you will still neeed to buy a license. The price includes 1 bull tag and lodging in a modern cabin (Heat/AC, water, and electric.) Half the diesel will probably run about four or five hundred bucks (depending on the price, and how much we are hauling.) Combined provincial and federal sales tax is 13% (I think) so that will add a few hundred dollars to the cost.

This will be a self guided hunt. The outfitter is a family friend from my hometown in Wisconsin (a town of 2500 people). He is going to keep track of moose sightings and will put us in areas that generally hold moose. It will be up to us from there. I have several videos on moose hunting and plan to use cow calls, decoy and aggressive tactics as required. I have two 4 wheelers we can pull up there with my truck. I have a friend who has a trailer we can borrow that will fit a 3rd bike. There are also boats available for rent. I am taking a generator and chest freezer for transporting the meat. I have a friend who is planning to ride along, but still is not sure if he can get the time off work.

Hunt should be taking place at the peak of the rut, so our chances should be good. We can hunt logging roads and near the water. From the research I have done this is a good area. I have never hunted moose before. Gonna need a hunting partner(s) with a positive attitude. For me the success of the trip is going to be in the adventure, not just if I kill a moose. (I do plan on trying my hardest to get one though.)

Here is the website for the place where I have the hunt booked. The people who own it are family friends from my home town. My grandfather used to work for one of the owner's dad.

Here are some pictures I got from them. Not trying to sell a hunt, just looking for someone to hunt with...to share in the fun, work and expense. I don't think they get too many bow hunters, so I assume the moose in the pictures were killed with rifles.
