I think the tournement was a good one great corse lots of good people .

But when you promise the kids that they will get an award you need to keep that promise. I was told saterday that there was no award cerimoney sundaybecause they had none to give out (wish I would have known that before I got a room in town ) . The awards might be just trinkets but to a kid its a big deal .

At the first L.S.B.A shoot my boy and 3 others were promised a buckel either in the mail or at the next shoot . I dont know about the other kids but mine has been going to the mail box for a month and that was the first thing he asked when he got to madisonvill .

If yall need pins for the kids Ill be glad to bring some from my club for them . We adults under stand why things like this happen but kids dont.

That would be me I found the corse to be verry eazy . I only used 1 pin exept on the elk . That was the first 3-D that I ever shot using my x cutters and nibbs . My club and most that you shoot in the hunter class require 4" vanes and screw in points no rear apitures or lens .

The first L.S.B.A I showed up with my 4" vanes 100gr screw in points shooting the same arrows I hunted with just to find out that every one ells was shooting target arrows . Most might not think that its a big differance but with my target arrows I shoot flat out to 30yds with my 20 pin you can be off up to 5 yds and still hit the 10 ring.

If you cant beat them join them .

BTW I shoot every weekend either NFAA IBO OR ASA I shoot LSBA for my boys they like going to all the places.

DID YOU USE A MAGNIFIED PEEP OR SIGHT @ THE MADISONVILLE SHOOT? ARE YOU GOING TO SHOOT AT THE ASA QUALIFIER @ BUFFALO FIELD ON SATURDAY? IF SO I WOULD LIKE TO SHOOT WITH YOU.

I have two differant 4x lenses one I hunt with it gathers light so I use it untill it starts fogging up no I dont use them for 3-D nor did I use one last weekend (didnt need one )

Yes I plan on shooting the asa this weekend look forward to shooting with you.

ASA allows magnification as does LSBA.

Neither magnification nor vanes and nibs make the kind of diff. you say. I know...I shot both. There is exactly 0" diff. in trajectory between 4" feathers and small vanes @ 30yds when shooting 280 fps and you are evidently shooting much more than that. Glue in tips only make a diff if you need to loose the weight for speed....to men this is no big deal.

If you are shooting flat out to 30 then you are shooting WAY OVER the 280 speed limit of either org.


With all that aside we agree on prizes, I also have a son due a buckle from Baytown this year and a wife due a buckle from last years year end. This is not good for the org.

Its all in the arrow if you ever shoot a round of field ( thats 112 arrow at 11' to 80yds you would find that these guys are shooting the lightest arrows they can get away with with 1.5 vanes & 55gr nibbs at low poundage . It closes there pin gap,s wich translates to a flater shooting arrow. Using the same arrows I did saterday I shoot my 20yd pin out to 32yds at 20 hold low in the bull at 30 I hold high at 32 2" over.

4" slow the arrow down thats what they are supose to do help stear a broadhead .

If magnification makes no differance then why do you use them ? but your wife cant makes no sence .

I have to admit that saterday I had tunel vision first time it ever happend to me it was like shooting a deer put your pin in the kill zone and the bow just goes off .


L.S.B.A needs to get there crap togather on these awards for the kids and start making the shoots a event to promote bow hunting and archery .

Wish I could Biggen but my plate is full I already hold a siular position at my archery club plus with two boys in baseball and archrey and keeping the feeders full in south texas im on the road all of the time .

Jeff, I'm sure that we can get a volunteer to go fill your feeders in S Texas. Why look at my calendar, I'm free for two weeks in DECEMBER...lol.

No offense and I hope I didn't cause any. It took me many years to learn to think before I speak........Now I have to learn to think before I type.

I have shot many LSBA shoots and some of the biggest ASA shoots, when I saw scores @ unknown distance that would have blown away any known distance shoot I have ever been to I was just taken aback a little. (I am truely impressed by a score 4 points shy of perfect in a 3D round)

I understand and agree with what you say about 4" feathers slowing the arrow more than short vanes....I just have not experienced this until the range exceeds 30 or 40 yards. Its just that in the last few years the only Org I have seen with a 4" feather rule or screw in tip rule is IBO, and this is the only reason I don't go to IBO. I see no reason to change my set up or make special arrows just for their shoots. Heck, even my fixed blade hunting arrows don't use 4" feathers any more.

Brent I have the same problem the good thing is my minde works faster than my fingers when it comes to typing .

I finde my self regreting even shooting last week seem like I stired up a hornets nest hell I was proud of my self .

Like you I shoot with my family wich after I shoot turns into a coaching lessen my boys are more important to me than having to prove my score,s

What most dont understand is my 10 year old is more competitive than any body I have ever shot with his scores droped last week because as he says it your arrow is in the way.

I dont know why I shot that good mabe because I shot that NFAA field shoot the week before Im out there to have fun with my boys obviously there are a lot that take this too serious .

Mack Casey and Janie Lassmann have been in communication with the company that makes the buckles, and have gotten everything straightened out. They have assured us, that we will have the buckles before the next shoot at Bryan. We will make every effort to get buckles to whomever is due one. I apologize on behalf of the organization for the buckles not being ready, and wholeheartedly agree that it is not good for the organization and especially disappointing to the younger archers.

Thanks for your reply for me I know what yall have gone through getting pins and buckels . I know my son will be happy thats all he has talked about for a month . I also hope that you get the pins out to all the kids that were at madisonvill .
