Technical Information?

Hey just wondering if anyone knew a rule of thumb to follow on Point weight vs spine. If you increase your point by say 20 grains how much should the spine go up, or if you decrease weight how much should you go down. Just wondering I'm always looking for additional information trying to master the dynamics of woodies.

Actually, increasing point weight will decrease spine strength and vice versa. Most folks I know begin at 125 grains up front and adjust from there.

Tracy is correct on the tip. Weight added to the rear of the arrow will stiffen the spine and weight reduced on the rear will weaken the spine.

Sorry for the confusion on my part. What I was wondering is say I have some arrow that shoot perfect with 160 grain with a spine of 55-60, but I want to use a woodsman head at 125 )grains (with a chisel point added around 123 grains) or want to use the new single bevel no mercy with a weight of 125 grains after final sharpening. About how much should I reduce my spine without buying a test kit.
