Bow Recommended for Beginners
Hi, I am new to the site and was wondering what is a good bow for biginners. To give you all a brief background, last time i shot a bow was about 15yrs ago.
I am interested in a composite bow, and was wondering if some of you had some recommedations on which brand. I dont want to spend much, but i also dont want a cheap one. Thanks for your opinion in advance. :muscle: |

There are lots of good bows out there. The important thing is that you choose one that is right for you. I would highly recommend that you go to a local pro shop and shoot several different brands prior to purchasing one. You will generally find one that fits you better than the others. If you are confident with your archery equipment, you will be confident when hunting. Here is a link to a website that is very informative on selecting a bow.
http://www.huntersfriend.com/bowselection.htm I also recommend that you take the International Bowhunter Education Program course. I personally prefer Parker Bows. They offer some good bows that will not break your pocket book. They also come with a Lifetime Warranty and have great customer service! http://parkerbows.com/pb/2007/index.html I see you are in the 77 Region. There are several LSBA Dealer Members that offer discounts to LSBA members. They are Santa Fe Archery in Santa Fe, Bullseye Archery in Angleton/Danbury and Sure Shot Archery in Humble. Bass Pro Shop also has a wide selection of bows. Glad to see you are back into bowhunting! Good luck! |
hey hot4huntin,
checked out the site you linked and it was very informative. Also checked out the parker site and well everything looks good and sounds great on the site, but i also thought of going out and checking them out in person. I noticed that gander has a variety of bows, it was listed in the dealer locations. will check that out. the tomkat dealer is close to the gander store so i wont be traveling long :D Thanks for the reply and all the hlp you have given. |
