Replacement bows for Cub Scouts
http://www.bowsite2.com/acb/showdetl...=3283&CATID=71
http://www.bowsite2.com/acb/showdetl...=2801&CATID=71 I am hoping to get enough of the above 2 items in the next couple weeks from Three Rivers Archery to donate to the Concho Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America for replacement of the unserviceable equipment at Camp Sol Mayer, near Ft. McKavitt. Anyone want to pitch in, shoot me a PM. When I was there this past weekend I found the bows were well below standard. Bearly shootable and unsafe. The nocks of the arrows did not fit the cables and since they were compounds (cables as well as the string) had to be set up either right or left handed. Also, the brackets that hold the wheels on were badly corroded and some had cracked wheels. I think they only had two left hand bows and there were a surprisingly large number of left handed kids. The above mentioned bows go both ways (hush hogslayer :D ). So, if you're interested in helping out a worthy cause in support of archery and bowhunting in Texas, shoot me an email or PM. PM would work better. |
Well, I suppose "a couple weeks" is unrealistic.
Doing pretty good though. I need one more bow and I'll have met my objective. I will be posting pictures of the cubs shooting the new bows once I present them to the Council. Best way I can think of to prove up for asking folks' help on this. I plan to present the bows on opening day of the Cub Scout camp the last week of June. Coming up fast. Hopefully the delivery services will cooperate. I'm a terrible salesman and I appreciate the support I've received on this. More to follow. |
I should be able to post some pictures next Saturday of the contributed bows in action. Sorry it's taken SO long in getting back on this.
I've been unable to make either of the camps where the bows are being used. Thanks to those of you who contributed. I'll post the pics on the Campfire page. |
Good Job Tracey! Keep up the good work!! :D
