Pray for beginners luck (and maybe try wearing a pink loincloth), it's your only chance.

biggen 03-13-2011 09:41 AM

Count down has begun!!

exit110 03-14-2011 07:10 AM

Not only will I be making it this year, but I am also bringing my guitar so that I can play while Tomme sings.

Ronny, and Brad asked for it!!!

DoubleB20 03-14-2011 08:49 AM

This is my first year of G&G. Turkey season starts Saturday. So I guess Friday is for hogs, scouting and pink loin cloth fashion show, right? How are pastures/cabins assigned? Do we have group meals at supper where Steve and Tomme pick and grin? Can someone give us newbies a rundown?

biggen 03-14-2011 09:04 AM

No group meals because some stay out late for hogs but usually there are a lot of people around eating! When you arrive you will draw for a feeder area. Meaning there is usually 100 acres around a feeder that you can hunt!! The feeder you draw will determine where you sleep!!

kellyg 03-14-2011 09:13 AM

I was thinking about making a big pot of Hawg Chili for Saturday night, whaddaya'll think?

Bring your own ice cream!

biggen 03-14-2011 10:00 AM

Bring it on!!! I will see if I can come up with some Tamales.

I'm driving to San Antonio Thursday night so I'm closer on Friday morning. Can anyone recommend a good place to stay Thursday night close to the ranch. It will be me and my boys. Thanks!

biggen 03-14-2011 05:50 PM

Rns usually drives in early and stays someplace in Hondo I think. I'm sure he will sound off!!

Ronny 03-14-2011 06:28 PM

The first place you come to, on the south side of the road in Hondo. I can't remember the name but its ok.

The one time I was there you did not need 4X4, but another time, a boat would not have helped you. Right Ronny.

Just Northeast of SA. SW of New Braunfels. Right off the interstate.

My wife, daughter, sil and MIL are gonna stay there while we are at the hunt....that way they can shop and hit the zoo.

Ronny 03-14-2011 08:59 PM

You do NOT need 4x4, the roads are good.

Who gave you permission for flash photography? I think this is an unauthorized picture.

Note 2 things here. 1 how glad we all look to see Brad. 2 how even Tomme towers over Ronny. :D

Nope, one pig hit but not found several saw or heard turkeys close but could not get them to respond to calls. Everybody saw a lot of deer because they are starving to death and loved the corn!!
