most guys don't need to get on a tire to get in the bed of a truck!
:err::cheese::tongue::devil::)

Somebody spilled a bucket of water a couple years back and he had to call and tell the missus he couldn't cross the "river"!

He did get a nice longbeard though....

Tomme,

Is it ok if I bring my blue lacy pup for the weekend? I would love to be able to get some tracking time in with her if its possible. She is well behaved, house/cabin broken and extremely friendly with other dogs. Better than my kids!!!!!! Plus I would prefer not to put her in a boarding facility.

biggen 02-22-2011 09:11 AM

I say bring her but if she barks a lot your rooming with Ronny!!

kellyg 02-22-2011 02:10 PM

Soooooo.... how many ladies/young ladies are going to be on this one?

That's funny right there, I don't care who you are!

Tomme 02-23-2011 08:45 PM

Sorry, but been busy since last weekend. Jon and I went on the banquet hunt that I won last summer in the raffle. Two hogs and one rattlesnake down. Between processing my hog, teaching five classes, playing bridge, planting my garden and fishing I haven't had time to scratch. Retirement living is tough.

Kelly, so far there's 4 boys and two girls, and that doesn't count Brad.

There are 36 signed up for the hunt so far, and that also doesn't include Brad, because the cheapskate hasn't sent his money in yet.

I did finally get Strickland's. Fine how do you do, when the two guys heading the hunt committee are so late.

Deadbeats.

kellyg 02-26-2011 08:45 AM

So Tomme, do you want to talk about this itch you don't have time to scratch? We're here for ya..... tehehe

recar 02-28-2011 09:40 AM

so is it ok for me to bring my pup?

DoubleB20 02-28-2011 09:44 AM

I may bring a dog too. I'm a little cautious about it though, seems the rattlesnakes are out and about now.

I have a question about the night hog hunting...

Do you guys attach a light to your bow or just use the moonlight? I don't think my Sarrells has an insert to attach a light. If the moon is anything like Feburary's full moon, won't need a light.

I'm really looking forward to this hunt. I've been practicing my turkey calling. Good thing no one rides with me every day - the clucks and yelps would drive them crazy.

LostHawg 02-28-2011 08:27 PM

Tomme practices his hog grunting on a regular basis...

Looks like we won't be there. Just too much going on with the kids. :(

Catie's in this basketball thing called Players in Progress and we have a festival that weekend in Abilene...

biggen 03-01-2011 05:25 PM

Sorry to hear Tracy but I understand with two of my own with Basketball!!

Ronny 03-01-2011 05:38 PM

So what all do I need to bring for this hunt? Pop-ups? Corn? Our own food? Is alchohol allowed, dis-allowed? Monies for specials shoots? etc? Bedding, plates, cookware? I know, lots of questions, but were only 2 weeks out.....

Alchohol is allowed, sometimes its a most to put up with Tomme

How old are your boys?

Me and mine are pumped....shooting everday so when we miss yall can give us a real hard time....come on spring break !

Tomme 03-09-2011 07:57 PM

Slayer, Ronny answered some of this, but just to make sure for you and anyone else.

Bring your favorite type of stand, pop ups work and so do short (6-10ft tripods). There are some areas where a chain on will work, but not all that many.

Cabins have bunk beds, bring your sleeping bag.

There are some pots and pans there, but bring paper plates, cups, plastic forks that sort of thing. They have stoves and bar-b-qs for cooking.

There are feeders and they have a feed route, but I'd bring a bag of corn for morning hunts and if you want to sweeten a spot. Note the corn route is not a continuous feed so you may have a spot on it, but still need to feed it.

If you have a turkey call and or decoy, bring them.

We have a fun balloon shoot, cost $5, if you shoot trad and want to try to take home the concrete pig it's also $5. We may have some raffles, but that hasn't been decided yet.

OK Dennis you owe a minimum of $75 (not to mention what I'll charge for interest and a late fee).

We currently have 40 people signed up for the hunt. We can still take a few more as typically the kids hunt with their sponsor.

I'd recommend hip waders if you're around Ronny or Brad. They are not known for truthful utterances. Now me you can trust.

bowhuntingobsession 03-09-2011 08:27 PM

Thanks Tomme you can charge whatever you want just give the bill to Brad he's good for it.

Tomme 03-09-2011 09:20 PM

Oh no, if you're passing the bill to Brad, I've just cancelled you out. We don't take credit scores of 196.

They are 13. We have been shooting everyday as well. I shoot compound, but recently got a recurve. Shooting it everyday, positive I can take a pig with it.

Tomme 03-09-2011 10:11 PM

You obviously haven't heard of "The Curse of the Concrete Pig." You are doomed.

slayer 03-09-2011 10:24 PM

I've heard Tomme, just hoping to break the curse as a newbie!
