It was tough hunting but there was no short supply of comic relief. Mostly in the form of Tomme, Ronnie, and Tracey. Some of the comedy was intentional some not so much (thanks Ronnie). Ronald and I had a great time and we got to meet some new folks, that's always a plus on these hunts.
At least I didn't miss anything this year. If you don't shoot you don't have to worry about missing! :? |
Well, to all my friends who I missed seeing this year...sorry.
The dang concrete big was out to get me before I even got there...he knew I was serious this time. Sue had been sick for about 3 weeks and in fact stayed in the room the entire time we were skiing on spring break. Thursday night she was very bad and we thought about the emergency room. We waited until Friday morning and went stright to the clinic. Well after a shot and some antibiotics...she felt much better. I thought about trying to make at least the last half of the hunt, heck I had already sent in full payment. I was already packed. On the way back from filling her perscription the Honda lost the timing belt on I59. Well by the time we got it towed the day and my chance to come to the Stuck and Bubbles Hunt was gone forever. I sat in my trophy room and pouted. Stupid concrete pig anyway. To those who called or e-mailed and expressed concern...thanks and she is much better. Tomme, if you are still holding a t-shirt for me...I will gladly buy it. If you sold it to some other (XXlarge) and handsome bowhunter, that is fine as well. See you guys next time. Mark |
Mark - Glad to hear your wife is doing better. I know there were many thinking of you while we were there.
"Stuck & Bubbles"??? Where do you come up with these things??? LOL!! It was a good time and you were missed. |
I guess we were the Soggy Bottom Boys at the Stuck & Bubbles Hunt
|
Oh yea Rusty put a six foot RATTLE SNAKE in the pickup we were using real late Sunday night, bout hurt my self Monday morning when I opened that truck door. You could hear me holler all the way up town, fastest I ever closed a door.
I will get ahead of ol Rusty at the next Grunt & Gobbles ( not even ) |
Oh good, grudges, curses, vendettas, next years hunt is already shaping up nicely.
|
We had a great time down there and I'm really looking forward to next year! One thing, if Tomme tells ya there's a mud hole, he means it!! I've got mud in places on my truck mud has never been!! Ronnie, are you SURE Rusty put the snake there? I just can't imagine him doing something like that.....
|
ronnie did you get your makeshift dam taken down on the river? You know? The one you used to back the water up?
Yeah, Rusty got some serious overtime in at the Stuck and Bubbles. I got some serious mud. Luckily I didn't get stuck and have to call for Rusty's tractor. I did see a coyote at 200 yards though. And the deer wore me out. Sorry things are EVERYwhere!!!! Everywhere I tell you. I don't want to shoot no deer, I want to shoot a hog. Deer are just plain ugly compared to my beloved RAZORBACKS!!! :P You know, the ones I never see... Next year, I'm gonna have to try a new game plan. Hopefully, it won't be so wet. I'll be sure to shoo the turkeys in y'alls directions. (Of course who am I to interfere with a turkey's destiny, if he happens into bow range?) |
Tomme I enjoyed it too but I propably missed all the real fun friday before I got there. Lookin forward to next year. And just so I don't get stuck IN THE DRIVEWAY again I'm puttin a winch on my two wheel drive.
